In the heart of McKees Rocks perched on a hill lies the once great Miles Bryan Junior High School. It first opened in the winter of 1928 to serve as the new McKees Rocks High School as a part of the McKees Rocks School District. In 1966 McKees Rocks School District merged with nearby Stowe School District and the building became the middle/junior high school for the now formed Sto-Rox School District. The building was closed in 1997 due to its dilapidated condition. Although having been sold multiple times to developers throughout the years since its closure, the once admired school still lies unprotected from the environment and continues to decline in condition.
